Camera angles. Once she goes into the white light and then it switches to her on the bike from a angle in front of her emerging from the curtain, that’s when it switches. It’s more obvious in the rehearsal video because she has all that makeup on one second and it’s gone the next moment.

so at the Billboard awards if Taylor said she didn’t lip sync (in response to kid rock's comment) but then the first half of her 22 performance was pre-recorded right? I am just confused -.-

It was essentially a video. She didn’t lipsync, she didn’t lie. Almost always that type of stuff is pre recorded video and audio because of how scripted the camera work and choreo is there backstage, things can’t go wrong live. Same thing as the VMAs in 2009 where she was on the Subway where it was pre-recorded until she ran up the stairs and went to live performance when she emerged and jumped on the Taxi.

She didn't lip sync during rehearsals or her performance. Her back up singers were singing the chorus and back up parts with her. That's why when she doesn't have the mic to her mouth the singing is not as loud.

I don't know if she did during the award show, but Taylor was lip syncing during the rehearsal. You can see as she runs up the stairs from backstage to the stage she's still 'singing' but when she has her back to the camera the mic is by her side.

The opening bit before she hits the curtain s prerecorded, like the subway bit from the VMAs, no way they’d do that live. You can also tell because in the rehearsal video she is wearing makeup then when they go through the curtain she isn’t.
